Residency Internet Resources

The American Medical Association's web version of FREIDA. You can search by both multiple states and multiple specialties. Some of the information provided is start dates, PGY schedules and salaries.

Informally known as "the match", this is the primary method of placing residents and interns. This site offers registrants information, schedules, policies, forms, publications, and details about the matching algorithm.

The umbrella organization for the approved medical specialty boards in the United States. Users can access a variety of medical boards which govern certification in all specialties.

Responsible for evaluating and accrediting graduate medical education programs. Potential residents can view requirements for programs in each specialty and subspecialty.

This site is aimed primarily for U.S. citizens who graduated from foreign medical schools. It assesses the readiness of foreign medical school graduates to enter residency or fellowship programs in the United States that are accredited by the ACGME.

Created and run by resident physicians, this site's key features include a comprehensive search for residency and fellowship programs, advice, chat groups, news, and clinical resources.
