Academic Search Premier:Covers a wide range of academic areas including   arts, business, communication, education, humanities, language and linguistics, literature, sciences, social sciences, technology and women's studies. Full text is provided for more than 2,330 journals dating back to 1990. 

Ageline:  AgeLine abstracts the literature of social gerontology as well as aging-related research from psychology, sociology, social work, economics, public policy, and the health sciences. It covers aging-related issues for professionals in aging services, health, business, law, and mental health.

 ISI Web of Science: ISI Web of Science is the web-based version of the Science Citation Index Expanded and the Social Sciences Citation Index. It covers over 6,000 U.S. and international, multidisciplinary journals. This database is useful for tracking citations in the published literature with some unique features. Related Records locates articles that have cited references in common; and Times Cited provides a list of articles that cite a source article.

MEDLINE: Premier source for bibliographic and abstract coverage of the biomedical literature. Includes some full-text.

 Nursing and Allied Health Collection: This database covers the areas of nursing, biomedicine, health sciences, consumer health and allied health disciplines, and contains full text for nearly 400 journals indexed in CINAHL.

 PsycInfo: Covers the professional and academic literature in psychology and related disciplines. Coverage is worldwide, and includes references and abstracts to journals and dissertations in more than 30 languages, and to book chapters and books in the English language. Includes some full-text.

 PubMed: PubMed, a service of the National Library of Medicine, provides access to over 11 million MEDLINE citations back to the mid-1960's and additional life science journals. PubMed includes links to many sites providing full text articles and other related resources.

The Society For Humanism in Medicine (SHIM)  

 The Society For Humanism in Medicine  is an interdisciplinary group of healthcare professionals committed to nurturing various aspects of humanism in medicine. The Society meets annually to hear a series of seminars and discussions on a relevant theme in a provocative atmosphere that fosters intellectual and spiritual growth and good fellowship. The Society is a non-profit organization with an international membership.

    The Arnold P. Gold Foundation

The Arnold P. Gold Foundation's mission is to perpetuate the tradition of the caring doctor by emphasizing the importance of the relationship between the practitioner and the patient. Our objective is to help physicians-in-training unite the old and the new, becoming doctors who combine the high tech skills of cutting edge medical science and technology with the high touch skills of communication, empathy and compassion.

Doctor/Patient Bibliography:

 A searchable resource intended for those interested in studying the connection between humanistic practice and patient satisfaction or well-being.

              Medical Student Bibliography:

This resource has three sections: 1) Literature that documents the changing humanistic attitudes of medical students, 2) Examples and outcomes of student ethical dilemmas, and 3) Studies on instances and types of student abuse and mistreatment.

              Hospital Culture Bibliography:

A searchable collection of books and articles assembled for those exploring the question of how to build a high-quality, interactive, humanistic work environment in a hospital, and seeking a starting point for initiating change in their clinical environments.
