UMDNJ Licensed Mobile Resources
Use of the resources listed below is limited to UMDNJ affiliated faculty, students, and staff only.
Access Medicine’s Clinical Library contains over 60 texts, including Harrison’s Online, Hurst’s The Heart, Schwartz’s Principles of Surgery, Williams Obstetrics, and Goodman & Gilman’s The Pharmacological Basis of Therapeutics. It should be noted that information may be downloaded via a mobile browser only as chapters and sections rather than as a complete book. Some devices may require a third party browser to display the content.
Users should create a personal profile at the Access Medicine page where accounts are created. That page can be found at
http://www.accessmedicine.com/myAccount.aspx?action=new.
CINAHL and Academic Search Premier via EBSCOhost
Searching the EBSCOhost database from a mobile device allows basic search techniques such as subject or author retrieval. PDF and full-text documents may be accessed when available. Other features include image quick view and the ability to e-mail links to articles.
To get started:
- Go to the University Libraries' "Databases" page, found at http://libraries.umdnj.edu/databases.html
- Choose any of the EBSCOhost databases and click on the "Sign In" link found in the top right portion of the page.
- Enter either of the two URLs into the browser of your device and sign in to begin searching: http://m.ebscohost.com/ or http://search.ebscohost.mobi/

DynaMed contains clinically-organized summaries for 3000+ topics. Users may search DynaMed’s contents by topic; each is divided into sections that cover risk factors, complications, physical examination, diagnosis, prognosis, etc. Users can link out to full-text resources when available.
UMDNJ users will need a DynaMed serial number prior to downloading the product. The serial number can be obtained at a UMDNJ campus library reference desk or by e-mailing dynamedsupport@epnet.com. A UMDNJ e-mail account should be used to do this – DynaMed authenticates using this e-mail address.
DynaMed is accessed via the Skyscape platform. Users will need to create a Skyscape account on their computer before downloading the program. Follow the steps listed below:
- Go to http://www.skyscape.com/index/home.aspx.
- Click on “My Account, ” located in the upper right-hand corner of the page.
- Click on “Update Account” and complete the form, supplying a UMDNJ e-mail address.
- Choose “Skyscape Medical Resources” from The App Store or Android Market on your personal mobile device.
- Go to the “Tools” tab and enter your serial number.
- Register and download the DynaMed product.
EEP is a system of filtered, evidence-based information. It allows users to simultaneously search, via keyword, the multiple databases that make up the product. It includes: Essential Evidence, EBM Guidelines, Daily POEMs, Cochrane Abstracts, Decision Support Calculators, Derm Expert, and an ICD-9 lookup tool.
EEP is a Web application – access this resource by opening the browser on a mobile device and enter the URL www.eeplus.mobi. Enter the Username and Password created during the registration process.
MDConsult Mobile is a browser-based version of MDConsult. It is not a downloadable application. Topics are linked to the MDConsult textbooks, which include Cecil Medicine, Braunwalk’s Heart Disease, Sabiston Textbook of Surgery, Nelson Textbook of Pediatrics, the Harriet Lane Handbook, and more.
Before accessing MDConsult Mobile, users will need to set up a free personal account from a computer on the UMDNJ network, following the steps below:
- Access MDConsult from the University Libraries' Databases page.
- Click on “Create an Account” found in the top right portion of the page.
- Complete the registration form, create a Username and Password, then click “Submit.”
- Log out after this is done.
- Once an account is established, users can access MDConsult Mobile at m.mdconsult.com or mobile.mdconsult.com through the Web browser on a mobile device.

This is a mobile-optimized search interface for PubMed. UMDNJ users may access full-text articles through this site by using the link on this page. Other users may access the site through the public link. All users can access journal abstracts, search using the PICO framework, and limit retrieval to case reports or systematic reviews only.
STAT!Ref provides full-text medical and drug information. The mobile version has full content available for all STAT!Ref titles.
