Find an Article on a Certain Topic
If you are searching for articles on a particular topic, you should select a database. Some databases may contain only the citation or abstract, while others may include access to the full-text of the article in either PDF or HTML format.
Medline, either through PubMed or Ovid Medline, is a good place to start if you are looking for medical journals. Nurses and allied health professionals may want to begin their search using CINAHL.
You may choose a database from our A-Z Databases List, arranged alphabetically by name. In some databases at the search results screen, you will see the "Findit" buttonwhich will link you from citations to the full-text of the article. For more information about "Findit", please contact the Reference Desk at 1-732-235-7604.
If the particular database you search does not have the full-text of the article available, nor a link to "Findit," then copy the citation information of the article and follow the steps below for finding the article.NOTE: UMDNJ Proxy Account is required to access the online databases and ejournals outside the UMDNJ Network.
