ABOUT THE LIBRARYWelcome to the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey-George F. Smith Library of the Health Sciences. The University Libraries Web site is your primary link to a wealth of resources: databases, full-text electronic books and journals, training opportunities, and access instructions. Find us on the Web at: http://www.umdnj.edu/librweb or go directly to the Smith Library Home page at: http://www.umdnj.edu/newarklib/index.html The vast majority of our electronic resources are available on a University-wide basis. The Smith Library serves all of the schools, programs, and departments on the Newark Campus. It is also the major research library in the health sciences for the state of New Jersey. The Libraries' Voyager system is the online catalog that lists resources in both print and electronic formats to the UMDNJ community. It is widely accessible for the broadest possible use at: http://voyager.umdnj.edu Library registration is essential to access various library resources. Registration enables users to borrow materials from the Libraries' circulating and reserve collections, as well as provides remote access to insure that there is a connection to the various electronic resources from off-campus locations at home or other clinical sites. Visitors to the Smith Library will find a vastly improved, user-friendly, and more functional library to meet your needs. A renovation project was completed in March 2003, with renewed study areas and new computer equipment available. We look forward to providing you with consistently high-quality information services that are so essential to the education, research, teaching, and patient care programs at UMDNJ.
