EndNote and EndNote Web are programs that helps users quickly collect and organize references from online sources (or elsewhere), create a searchable personal database, find and cite these references while writing, and create bibliographies formatted in their style of choice.
EndNote works with your word processor (Microsoft Word, AppleWorks) to manage in-text citations, to automatically format your references according to a predefined citations style and to build bibliographies in nearly any format. Everything you collect - notes, quotations, file attachments - becomes part of a searchable database which you can reach into whenever you want to add a citation to your document or create a bibliography for it. The University Libraries are licensed to provide download access to EndNote only for our UMDNJ affiliated users.

An update is now available or EndNote X5 for Windows. From within EndNote, choose "EndNote Program Updates" from the "Help" menu and follow the on-screen prompts. Alternately, you can download a patch (please note that this is a .zip file that contains the .msp patch installer). To run this installer open the ZIP file and then double-click the MSP file to update your version of EndNote.
EndNote X5 for Macintosh is now available for download. However it may not be compatible with all Macintosh computers. Click here to check for compatibility.
In EndNote X5 an error has been discovered in the APA 6th edition publication style. The error may cause some journal articles to be cited incorrectly. For a detailed explanation of this error please read the entry on the University Libraries EndNote Blog. To correct this problem download and install a revised copy of the APA 6th publication style, or edit the existing APA 6th publication style. (See Instructions

EndNote Web is a web-based service that allows EndNote users to access the basic functionality of EndNote online when using multiple computers. It allows online sharing of EndNote libraries if working on a collaborative project. An EndNote Web account can be created from within EndNote, or you can go to MyEndNoteWeb.com to set up an account.
